Governor Moore Announces Key Bridge Rebuild Dashboard, Giving Marylanders a Clearer View of Construction Progress

Updated:

Screenshot of the Key Bridge Rebuild dashboard, with data as of October 1, 2026. When finished, the new bridge will be more than 2 miles long, with two towers over 600 feet tall, more than 1,600 feet between the towers, and 230 feet of clearance for ships passing under it. Progress so far: the permanent supports are 55% done at the south tower and 26% done at the north tower. The temporary work platforms on both sides are 99% done.

ANNAPOLIS, MD— Governor Wes Moore today announced the launch of the Key Bridge Rebuild Dashboard, a new online resource that gives Marylanders a view of construction progress on the Maryland Transportation Authority’s (MDTA) Francis Scott Key Bridge Rebuild Project.

“As work continues to rebuild the Key Bridge as safely, quickly, and cost-efficiently as possible, we’re giving Marylanders clear and accessible information about our progress,” said Gov. Moore. “This dashboard will give Marylanders a direct view of the ongoing progress we’re making to restore the Key Bridge as a vital economic engine, not just for our state, but for our entire nation.”

Available at KeyBridgeRebuild.com, the dashboard is updated monthly and brings key project information together in one place, giving the public direct access to measurable construction progress, completed activities, design and procurement milestones, and stakeholder engagement information. The dashboard is part of the Moore-Miller Administration’s continued commitment to transparency and keeping Marylanders informed about one of the largest infrastructure projects in state history.

“Much of the work on the Key Bridge Rebuild is happening on the water and can be difficult to see from land, so we are excited to launch a dashboard allowing all Marylanders to view the progress as it happens,” said Maryland Department of Transportation Secretary and MDTA Chair Katie Thomson. “Our dashboard gives the public an easy way to see measurable progress, understand the work taking place and stay informed as we rebuild this vital connection under the leadership of the Moore-Miller Administration.”

The dashboard provides an at-a-glance look at the scale of the new bridge, including its more than two-mile total length, 600-plus-foot pylons, more than 1,600-foot distance between the main span pylons, and 230-foot minimum vertical clearance within the navigation channel.

“Transparency and accountability are fundamental to good government. I applaud Governor Moore for providing this dashboard to track one of the most important infrastructure projects in the country — allowing the public to know where things stand with the Key Bridge rebuild every step of the way,” said Congressman Johnny Olszewski. “Marylanders deserve this user-friendly way to stay updated on timing and costs, and we must continue to do everything we can to rebuild the bridge as quickly and safely as possible.”

“The Key Bridge Rebuild is advancing every day, and this dashboard gives the community an accessible way to follow that progress,” said MDTA Executive Director Bruce Gartner. “From permanent pile driving and construction of the trestle platform to future milestones, the dashboard provides another window into the project as it moves forward, keeping the community informed and part of the rebuild process.”

Visitors can also see measurable construction progress on major work, including permanent pile installation at the north and south pylons, and construction of the north and south main line trestles. These temporary work platforms provide construction crews, materials and cranes with direct access from land to the bridge piers.

The dashboard documents work already completed, including National Environmental Policy Act approval, pre-construction activities, mechanical land demolition and the test pile program. Design and procurement milestones provide additional context about the many components involved in rebuilding the bridge, while recent accomplishments highlight significant work completed across the project.

A stakeholder engagement section provides another measure of the project’s outreach efforts, tracking pop-up events, speaking engagements, industry forums and the growing Key Bridge Rebuild community on Facebook.

Together, these features provide the public with a centralized, easy-to-understand resource to see the work taking place on the water and on land — including construction that may not be visible from surrounding communities.
